Invictus Quartet is a Melbourne string quartet bringing polished live strings to weddings, ceremonies, cocktail hours and corporate events. Four classically trained musicians with a fresh, playful streak, they move easily from Vivaldi and the great quartet repertoire to string versions of the pop songs, film themes and game soundtracks your guests already love.
About Invictus Quartet
The quartet formed in 2017, when four students met in a university ensemble class and decided one semester together wasn’t nearly enough. All four are graduates of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, and the name sums up their attitude: Invictus is Latin for “unconquered”. They are alumni of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music’s Pathways Program and have performed internationally, from Salzburg to Texas, as well as at royal receptions.
Invictus Quartet Performance Style and Highlights
Invictus Quartet balance traditional elegance with a real sense of fun. Alongside the classical string quartet repertoire, they collaborate with contemporary composers and R&B and neo-soul producers, and they’re known for clever mashups, such as Vivaldi’s Four Seasons blended with pop, K-pop, film and anime themes for The University of Melbourne’s After Hours series. Their own concerts around Melbourne have taken audiences on a musical trip through Middle-earth, Hogwarts, Hyrule and Westeros.

Why Choose Invictus Quartet for Your Event
A string quartet sets the tone the moment guests arrive. Invictus Quartet give you that classic elegance, plus the freedom to surprise. Walk down the aisle to a traditional piece, then sign the register to a string version of your favourite song. At a corporate function, they create a refined atmosphere during pre-dinner drinks without drowning out conversation, and they’re happy to tailor a set list around your theme, your audience or a special request.
