Rumberos is a vibrant, youthful and highly professional musical outfit that delivers tight and energetic performances in the Afro-Cuban tradition. The pleasure they take in making music and the atmosphere of fun they bring with them are totally contagious, so they never fail to get a crowd dancing their socks off. The repertoire is drawn from a wide spectrum of Latin styles, from classic salsas and hot mambos of the Fania era, to the innovative Cuban songo popularized by Los Van Van and Irakere, to timba, the very latest cutting edge movement to come out of Cuba incorporating hip-hop and funk elements. More importantly, all Rumberos songs feature infectious grooves, fiery solos, rich vocal harmonies and exciting horn arrangements. Rumberos put the stamp of their unique sound on everything they play. Their line-up features Australia's finest Latin and jazz musicians, and reads like a who's who of Australian talent. Despite being a young band they are all seasoned veterans, they've all toured internationally and between them they've appeared as side men for many of Australia's and the world's biggest acts, and in a wide variety of styles, from Men At Work, Jenny Morris and Bardot to Paul Grabowsky, Vince Jones and James Morrison, and from Aretha Franklin and Dennis Chambers to the Chamber Orchestra of New York.
